What You Receive

Each kit includes:

  • Pre-formed aluminium Lancaster bomber parts
  • Mounting bracket
  • Nuts, bolts and rivets
  • Full build support via dedicated online build video

The model has a wingspan of approximately 4ft and is manufactured in the UK from 2mm and 2.5mm aircraft-grade aluminium.

All parts are pre-formed to allow simple construction using basic hand tools, with the design intended to bolt and rivet together as easily as possible.

About the Design

The Lancaster Bomber Wind Feature was originally developed from offcuts during the Land Rover build featured in Guy’s Garage. Since then, the design has evolved into the version available today.

The planes are supplied in bare aluminium finish. Due to the manufacturing process, some light surface marks or scratches may be visible from the laser cutting and forming process. We recommend finishing the components with Scotch-Brite or similar surface finishing pads to achieve a cleaner polished appearance if desired.

Build Information

Approximate build time: 1 hour

The kit can be assembled by one person, although an extra pair of hands can make a few stages easier.

Tools recommended:

  • 10mm spanner
  • 13mm spanner
  • 17mm spanner
  • 4mm Allen key
  • 5mm Allen key
  • Pop rivet gun

For the build video, we use a professional electric riveter, although a standard hand rivet gun will also work.

A dedicated step-by-step build video is available on the Tornado Dave YouTube channel, and each kit includes a QR code linking directly to the video instructions.
